TiviMate is the gold standard of IPTV players. With its cable-TV-like interface, robust EPG, and recording capabilities, it's the preferred choice for thousands of IPTV users. This guide covers installation, configuration, and advanced features.
What You'll Need
- A Firestick, Android TV, or Android device
- An IPTV subscription (M3U URL or Xtream Codes)
- The Downloader app installed on your device
- Apps from Unknown Sources enabled
Step 1: Install TiviMate
Method 1: Direct APK (Recommended)
- Open the Downloader app
- Enter:
https://tivimate.com/download
- Download the latest stable APK
- Install when prompted
- Delete the APK file to save space
Method 2: Google Play Store
- Open the Google Play Store on your Android TV
- Search for "TiviMate"
- Select Install
Note: The Play Store version may have limited features. The direct APK from the official website is always the most up-to-date.
Step 2: Initial Configuration
- Open TiviMate from your Apps menu
- Select "Add Playlist"
- Choose your playlist type:
- M3U Playlist: For providers that give you an http/https URL ending in .m3u
- Xtream Codes API: For providers that give you a server URL, username, and password
- Enter the details exactly as provided by your IPTV service
- Give your playlist a name (e.g., "My Playlist")
- Select "Next", TiviMate will download your channel list
Step 3: Set Up EPG (Electronic Program Guide)
The EPG shows what's currently playing and what's scheduled next, just like the TV guide in a newspaper.
- Go to Settings (gear icon) → EPG
- Select "Add EPG Source"
- Enter the EPG URL provided by your IPTV service
- Select "Next" and wait for the EPG data to download
- Go back to the main screen and press the Up button on your remote to see the TV guide
Troubleshooting: If EPG data doesn't appear, go to Settings → EPG → EPG Sources and select "Update EPG" manually. It can take 5-10 minutes for all data to populate.
Step 4: Customise Your Experience
TiviMate offers extensive customisation options. Here are the most important settings to configure:
Appearance
- Settings → Appearance → Theme: Choose between light, dark, or auto
- Settings → Appearance → TV Guide: Adjust number of hours shown, channel logo size, and font size
Playback
- Settings → Playback → Buffer Size: Set to "Large" if you experience buffering (uses more RAM but smoother playback)
- Settings → Playback → Audio: Passthrough for surround sound systems
- Settings → Playback → Frame Rate: Enable "Auto Frame Rate" for smooth motion matching
Groups and Favourites
- Long-press the OK button on any channel to add it to favourites
- Go to Settings → Groups to hide categories you don't watch
- Drag and drop channels or groups to reorder them
Step 5: Upgrade to Premium (Optional)
The free version of TiviMate limits you to 5 channels. To unlock the full experience:
- Go to Settings → About → Upgrade to Premium
- Select the subscription term (1 year or lifetime)
- Complete payment through the Google Play Store
- Restart TiviMate, all features are now unlocked
Premium features include: unlimited channels, timeshift, recording, multi-playlist, backup/restore, and no ads.
Advanced Tips
- Backup your settings: Go to Settings → General → Backup & Restore. Save to USB or cloud storage. This makes it easy to restore your setup if you change devices.
- Assign a remote button: TiviMate allows you to map remote control buttons for quick access to EPG, groups, or favourites.
- Multiple playlists: You can add multiple IPTV subscriptions in one TiviMate installation. Great for testing providers or combining services.
