Step 1: Prepare Your Firestick

Before installing anything, make sure your Firestick is set up and connected to the internet.

  1. Plug your Firestick into your TV's HDMI port and connect the power cable
  2. Connect to your Wi-Fi network (Settings → Network)
  3. Make sure your Firestick software is up to date (Settings → My Fire TV → About → Check for Updates)
  4. Enable Bluetooth if you plan to use a wireless keyboard or remote

Step 2: Enable Apps from Unknown Sources

By default, Firestick only allows apps from the Amazon Appstore. To install third-party IPTV players, you need to change this setting:

  1. Go to Settings (gear icon in the top menu)
  2. Select My Fire TV (or "Device" on older versions)
  3. Select Developer Options
  4. Select Apps from Unknown Sources and turn it ON
  5. Read the warning and select Turn On to confirm
Note: If you don't see "Developer Options", go to My Fire TV → About → click "Serial Number" 7 times rapidly. This unlocks the hidden developer menu.

Step 3: Install the Downloader App

The Downloader app lets you download and install APK files directly on your Firestick. It's available in the Amazon Appstore:

  1. From the Firestick home screen, go to the Search (magnifying glass icon)
  2. Type "Downloader" and select it when it appears
  3. Select the Downloader app by AFTVnews (the blue icon with a white arrow)
  4. Select Download (it's free)
  5. Once installed, select Open

When you open Downloader for the first time, it will ask for permissions. Grant access to "Files and Media" so it can save downloaded apps.

Step 4: Install TiviMate IPTV Player

TiviMate is widely considered the best IPTV player for Firestick. Here's how to install it:

  1. Open the Downloader app
  2. In the URL field, enter: https://tivimate.com/download or the direct APK link provided by the developer
  3. Select Go
  4. The APK file will download. Once complete, select Install
  5. After installation, select Done (do not select Open yet)
